The Buena Park Youth Theatre was started  by Ruth Walp, at the time an elementary school teacher, as a result of  the budgetary cutbacks in Fine Arts education in our public schools. The Youth Theatre has been producing fully staged Broadway musicals since 1981. Over the years over 2500 young people between the ages of 8 to 18 have participated. Full length shows such as Peter Pan, Oklahoma, Wizard of Oz, Annie, Music Man, Into The Woods, Annie Get Your Gun, The Wiz, Oliver, Here's Love, Scrooge, Joseph...Dreamcoat, Annie, Honk!, Lil  Abner , Guys n Dolls, Bye Bye Birdie, Footloose and many others are presented with complete professional lighting, sound, full costumes and complete sets. All productions are presented with highest quality production values possible and have consistently received outstanding critical acclaim.
